
At the publishing stage, the hard work of the stage before, the final editing stage, either sinks or swims. Does the boat hold water? Is my story “sea-worthy”? At this point, with a polished, edited, scrutinized manuscript in hand, many decisions are necessary. One that is close to my heart is the book cover. I have the great fortune of a talented graphic artist near at hand, so I do not have to hire out for a cover. Another important decision is the decision of the title for the book. Should I go with something obscure and with personal significance and ignore if anyone else ever gets the full meaning? Or should I go with something classic, like a limerick or a nursery rhyme, and dare enter a world of differentiation? Or should I have a heart-to-heart talk with AI and just make it funky?
